For Love Me Now Before They All Love Me, A Creative Flo partnered with Harlem-based artist SNS to bring to life a semi-autobiographical narrative exploring fame, struggle, and the identity crisis that shadows creative ambition. The pre-production process centered around understanding SNS’s vision of what it feels like to rise from the margins while staying rooted in community. We worked hand-in-hand to extract the most authentic moments from his life and fictionalize them with cinematic integrity.
During this stage, our team explored contemporary urban visual language while referencing early 2000s hip-hop cinema for mood and style. We focused on layering character depth with dynamic story beats that would resonate with SNS’s audience and reflect his lyrical artistry on screen.
Pre-production deliverables included:
Production spanned over four months and was anchored in Harlem, capturing both the intimate and raw aesthetics of SNS’s neighborhood. Filming was intentionally scheduled across seasons and times of day to showcase the contrast between aspiration and environment. We leaned into natural lighting for daytime exteriors and used handheld techniques for an unfiltered, documentary-style intensity in performance-driven moments.
Directorial energy was focused on rhythm—both musical and emotional. Every shot was orchestrated to echo the internal tension of the artist's journey. Camera movement and lens choices were made to heighten the emotional highs and lows, from celebratory street scenes to deeply personal monologues.
Production highlights included:
The post-production process was completed in just two weeks following final shoot days. Editing was guided by SNS’s own music catalog and was structured around sonic and visual rhythm to reflect the hybrid nature of the film. We incorporated interludes with musical performances and stylized flashbacks to add emotional layers and reflect the nonlinear path of artistic success.
Color grading leaned into bold contrasts and gritty tones to emphasize realism, while editorial pacing favored raw moments of vulnerability. The final cut embraced both commercial polish and underground energy, creating a visual experience that speaks directly to urban creators and fans alike.
